Jellyfish Rock

It’s been such a privilege and great fun visiting Jersey schools during the week before the Liberation celebrations. Thank you for the welcome, all you brilliant pupils and teachers. Thank you also Jersey heritage and a residential home in St Helier for inviting me to give a presentation. I learned so much from veterans of the Occupation – what an honour.

Here’s a poem for Grands Vaux school.

Jellyfish Rock

One red jellyfish
Danced upon a rock
Doing the funky chicken
In a lost sailor’s sock.

Another came and joined him,
Then there were three,
One in the toe and the ankle
And the knee.

One did a belly dance,
Another tried tap
While the other kept the rhythm
With a Caribbean rap.
